I believe in order to be the best coach possible, we have to understand what athletes want from a coach. Coaches do a pretty good job of telling athletes what they want, but don’t do a good job of understanding what the athletes want. What the athlete wants is important, because when they get it, they will run through a brick wall for the coach and the team. And when you have athletes with that mentality, you have the foundation for unimaginable success.
I am collecting data from athletes across the country to better understand what they really want from a coach. I will publish the results and analysis over the next few weeks and months.
